IT’S Ladies Day at Cowes Week and a bevy of fashionable females have been making waves on shore.
Long floaty dresses have proved to be the nauti-cool must have this year, accompanied by flat, strappy sandals to ensure long walks along the coastline are not cut short by painful high heels.
Anyone wanting to make sure they’re looking ship-shape has donned a pair of sunglasses, an essential at this year’s sailing extravaganza, whether you are a seasoned seaman or a sailing novice.
Adding a bit of glitz and glamour to the regatta was Lucy Henderson, who turned heads wherever she went, wearing a stunning orange ball gown and sparkling accessories.
The 17-year-old from Cowes said: “I just want to add a bit of extra glamour to the event. This is the world’s greatest sailing regatta and I think it would be great if people put in that extra effort.”
