DOZENS of people turned out to show their support for the RNLI yesterday, at their official Cowes Week charity day.
A whole host of activities took place to mark the day, including winch grinding competitions and rescue simulations.
The day culminated in a lavish fundraising bash at Cowes Yacht Haven, featuring a special talk from round the world yachtsman Pete Goss, pictured, a live Ceilidh band and a charity auction.
The charity, which started in 1824, two years before the first Cowes week was held, also ran Get Your Kit On competitions which saw members of the public race to scramble into lifeboat clothing against the clock
