SAILING: Thomson up to third in Vendee Globe
Hampshire sailor Alex Thomson is back up to third in the Vendee Globe.
The 42 year-old from Gosport, who led the brutal round-the-world race on day one, began day four in seventh place before climbing back up to third this afternoon.
He was flying along at 20.9 knots, making up eight miles on the leaders, according to his support team.
His progress can be followed on the official Vendee Globe tracker.
