RUNAWAY leaders Southampton dropped their first Hampshire Women’s League points of the season - after being held to a 0-0 draw by their second team at the Sports Centre.
With Southampton II fourth in the log, the inter-club derby was a good quality affair.
Both goalkeepers were called on to make saves in a relatively even first half, while the respective defences held strong.
In the second half the unbeaten first team had more of the play. causing the seconds defence to concede a number of corners.
Goalkeeper Rachel Adams, Mags Ingram, Fiona Jarman and Sheilah Mackie were outstanding in their defence and did not allow the firsts to take advantage of their pressure.
A last-ditch save from Adams ensured the second team enjoyed a share of the spoils.
At the opposite end of the table, Romsey eased their relegation concerns with a 3-1 win over the New Forest.
