Premier League newcomers Bournemouth have signed their second goalkeeper in two days by acquiring ex-Reading stopper Adam Federici.
The Cherries brought in last season's loanee Artur Boruc on a permanent deal on Tuesday, after he was released by Saints, and have followed that up by agreeing to terms on a three-year deal with Federici, who was a free agent after his contract with the Royals expired.
Federici, 30, made 49 appearances in all competitions for Championship side Reading last term, but it was his error in the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal, when he let an Alexis Sanchez shot squirm under his body, which sealed the Gunners' progress to this weekend's final.
The keeper had been with the Royals for a decade and he was their first-choice stopper in their last campaign in the top flight.
"It was difficult to leave Reading because I had been there an extremely long time," Federici told Bournemouth's official website.
"I had a lot of success there and the fans were great for me, but I thought it was time I moved on.
"I'm looking forward to joining something special down here. It's a team I admired last season, watching how they play their football.
"Having spoken to people like Ian Harte, who I'm close to, he couldn't speak highly enough of the squad.
"As I said, I feel like I'm joining something special and I'm looking forward to working with the manager and the boys. I can't wait to get started."
