ORIGINALLY playing on Brendon Green, Millbrook, Brendon FC took their name to reflect this before changing to Brendon 66 FC.
The name change came about to reflect the year they were founded – 1966.
In 1990, when the under-13 team were Division 2 leaders, children’s clothing store Smarty-pants showed their support for the club by providing them with shorts and shirts.
The shop owner, Claire Herbert, said: “We enjoy supporting the team. They’re lovely young lads.”
In 1996 the squad got a taste of success when they won the Premier Division championship under the captaincy of Stuart Devoy.
The team went through another name change at the beginning of the 2013-14 season when they took on the mantle Brendon Bush Hill Youth FC.
