NEW Forest carp farmers Heather Fisheries were delighted to be asked to provide a memorial fish for the Stone family to put into Christchurch Angling Club’s Hucklesbrook Lake.
That was in memory of husband and father Joseph John Stone who passed away in July.
The family’s first idea was to put up a bench at Joe’s favourite venue, Hucklesbrook, where he taught his son Ian how to fish.
A big turnout of the Stone family watched what is now known as “Joe’s Fish” being stocked in Hucklesbrook.
Daily Echo angling reporter Mark Simmonds said: “Wouldn’t it be super if Ian catches ‘Joe’s fish’ at 40 lb plus lb in the future.
“The fish was a lovely idea and far better than a bench. What can be better than anglers catching a cracking looking scaly carp that has been stocked in memory of somebody?
