SAINTS have agreed a deal to sell Kamaldeen Sulemana to Atalanta for a fee potentially rising to €21.5million (around £18million).

Southampton record signing Kamaldeen is set to join former boss Ivan Juric in Serie A ahead of the 2025/26 campaign for an initial €17.5million.

Saints have negotiated a 15 per cent sell-on clause in the deal to sell the Ghanaian winger, meaning they could profit further.

The 23 year old will be Juric's first addition during his reign in Bergamo, having arrived at Champions League-qualified Atalanta earlier this summer.

Kamaldeen was a favourite for Croatian manager Juric during his ill-fated spell as Saints boss, which saw him win just one Premier League game.

The former Rennes winger played a key role in that victory, as it was his effort that led to Paul Onuachu scoring a dramatic winner at Ipswich Town.

Kamaldeen has failed to hit the heights in the red and white of Saints since making a big-money switch to the then Premier League club in 2023.

He scored just four goals across two and a half seasons, netting twice last year, and failed to find the net when Saints won promotion via the play-offs in 2024/25.

In total, Kamaldeen found the back of the net four times in 74 appearances for Saints and notched seven assists.
