SAINTS defender Kyle Walker-Peters has issued a classy goodbye message to everyone connected with the club amid his departure.

The 28 year old has spent five and a half seasons at St Mary's, making 202 appearances for the club since first arriving from Tottenham Hotspur.

Walker-Peters initially joined on loan from Spurs in January 2020, before penning a five-year contract on a permanent switch that summer.

He remained with the club following its relegation from the Premier League in 2023 and was named in the 2024 Championship Team of the Season.

As Walker-Peters departs the club on a free transfer at the end of his contract, he has penned a classy and thoughtful message to the supporters.

On social media site Instagram, Walker-Peters said: "Dear Saints, after five unforgettable years, the time has come for me to say goodbye.

"Since I joined Southampton in 2020, I couldn’t have imagined how much this club would come to mean to me.

"From day one you’ve shown me nothing but love and support. I’ve grown here, not just as a footballer but as a person.

"I’ve experienced moments that will stay with me for life. Wearing the red and white has truly been an honour I’ll always cherish.

"To my teammates and everyone at the club, thank you for the memories, the laughs and the journey.

"To the fans, your passion, loyalty and constant support through the highs and lows has been amazing. It’s been a privilege to represent you.

"This club has shaped me, and I’ll forever be proud to have been a Saint. Thank you for everything. With love, KWP."

Walker-Peters is yet to confirm his next club but is likely to have significant interest in him to remain in the Premier League despite relegation.
