SAINTS have reportedly received a bid worth around £17million from Ivan Juric's Atalanta for the transfer of Kamaldeen Sulemana.

Kamaldeen, Southampton's club-record signing at £22m in January 2023, is available for sale and could re-join respected manager Juric in Italy.

The Ghanaian international has struggled at Saints, scoring four goals in 74 appearances, but played his best football under the Croatian.

Juric, despite departing Saints following confirmation of the club's relegation from the Premier League in April, has landed a Champions League role.

He wants Kamaldeen to bolster the squad which finished third in Serie A last season, while the former Stade Rennes winger is open to the move.

Sky Sports report that Atalanta are close to agreeing a deal with Saints and have made a third bid worth a total package of over £17m.

They add that the bid includes a fixed fee of £13.6m and a further £3.4m in add-ons, while more clubs are circling with interest in Kamaldeen.

Premier League clubs are said to be interested, despite him registering just one goal and one assist in 26 Premier League appearances last season.

The Daily Echo is told Saints are hopeful of completing the deal, which would see them recoup most of what they spent on Kamaldeen two years ago.
