FOUR Hampshire cricketers have earned call-ups to the England Women A side set to take on New Zealand A in a series of 50-over and T20 fixtures this summer.
Freya Kemp, Abi Norgrove, Rhianna Southby, and Ella McCaughan have all been selected, with Kemp, Norgrove and Southby included in the 50-over squad, while McCaughan features in the T20 line-up.
Kemp and Norgrove, both top-order batters, will be hoping to make an impact in the three 50-over matches at Derby (June 23 and 26) and Chelmsford (June 29). Southby, a wicketkeeper-batter, adds experience behind the stumps.
McCaughan, a dynamic opening batter, joins the 20-over squad for matches in Chelmsford (July 3) and Beckenham (July 5 and 7).
The squads boast a blend of youth and talent from across the regional setups, with Grace Scrivens of Essex captaining both sides. Notable names alongside the Hampshire quartet include Lancashire’s Mahika Gaur, Surrey’s Alexa Stonehouse, and Warwickshire’s Davina Perrin.
These fixtures provide a vital platform for emerging players to showcase their skills and push for full international honours.
For the Hampshire players, it’s a chance to build on strong domestic performances and gain valuable experience on the international stage.
