SAINTS and Trabzonspor have reportedly agreed a transfer fee for Paul Onuachu, who became a fan favourite on loan at the Turkish side.
Onuachu, 31, has been pursued by Trabzonspor for 12 months since he scored 17 goals in 23 matches on loan there in the 2023/24 season.
Saints rejected bids Trabzonspor worth £5m last summer but the Nigerian international is set to enter the final year of his contract at St Mary's.
The Nigerian international is well-liked at Saints but there is an understanding that he is keen to exit St Mary's, with a deal now agreed.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Saints and Trabzonspor have agreed a €8million (around £6.8m) fee for Onuachu to leave the club permanently.
Paul Onuachu remains fairly well liked at Saints, I've not heard any rumblings otherwise, but he's made it pretty clear that he's open to leaving and with only a year left on his deal at 31 years old, if Saints pocket nearly £7million for him then that works for all.#SaintsFC

The Daily Echo is told personal terms are close to being agreed, although the structure of payments between the clubs must be established.
Trabzonspor were late on payments to Saints for Onuachu's loan spell during the 2023/24 season, causing frustration for those close to the deal.
Trabzonspor also still owe payments for the transfer of Mislav Orsic, who departed Saints after six months at the club for a reported fee of £3.5m.
Onuachu signed for Saints in a move worth around £15million in January 2023 but only became as a regular starter under manager Ivan Juric.
He has scored 83 goals in league competition since the start of the 2020/21 season, and was Southampton's 2024/25 top scorer with four league goals.
But he battled a persistent ankle injury last campaign and his bosses had admitted he struggles to play week-in week-out at his top level.
