SAINTS midfielder Mateus Fernandes has progressed to the Under-21 European Championship with Portugal after they topped their group.
Portugal pipped France to a first-place finish in Group C on goal difference following a 4-0 win over 10-man Georgia on Tuesday.
Fernandes played just 61 minutes in Trenčín, Slovakia, and was replaced minutes after seeing a yellow card with Portugal already 1-0 up.

The 20 year old returned to the starting lineup after going unused in Portugal's 5-0 thumping of Poland on Saturday.
Fernandes started in his country's opening game 0-0 draw with France, bossing the midfield and making more tackles than any other player.
Portugal will face either Ukraine (four points), Netherlands (one point) or Finland (one point) in the quarter-final, with second-place in Group D to be decided on Wednesday afternoon.
