CHLOE Pelplow has challenged Saints Women to be more consistent after extending her stay at St Mary's.
Pelplow, 26, has signed a new two-year deal with Southampton FC Women, following their worst campaign since winning promotion to the Championship.
Saints finished eighth in an 11-team Championship last season, earning just 21 points, nearly half of what they achieved the season prior.
Experienced midfielder Peplow wants Saints, who are without a permanent manager currently, to use last year's disappointment as a learning curve.
"As a group of players, we can use last year as a huge learning experience. There are things that we can put right this season," she said.

"We are trying to develop and grow and move forward as a team. That is the main positive that we have to look forward to next season.
"I'm only getting started in terms of my consistency. I managed to have a decent run of games. There is a lot more to come from my performances."
Peplow added: "It was the right decision to stay where I am and improve from where I was last season. The club wants to compete at a high level in the Championship.
"We will have a group of young players, as we always do, and we have to try and finish in our best position in the Championship.
"The league gets more competitive every year. More teams are going full-time and investing. Our personal aim will be to finish as high as we can.
"Consistency through the season is something we lacked last year. Last season, the fans were amazing. They stuck with us through tough times."
