FORMER Saints striker Danny Ings is reportedly an ambitious transfer target for newly promoted Championship side Wrexham.
The Welsh outfit have been punching above their weight in the transfer market since their Hollywood owners bought the club.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney acquired Wrexham in February 2021, and have been promoted in each of the last three seasons.
Partly funded by their Disney+ documentary, Wrexham have signed the likes of star striker Paul Mullin from leagues above on massive wages.
The Mirror have reported that they have now set their sights on older but proven Premier League players, including a former Saints star.

Former England international Ings, 32, is set to become a free agent when he departs West Ham at the end of his contract this month.
He only managed one goal in 15 matches in the top flight last season, taking his total to just five goals in 69 matches in all competitions for the Hammers.
However, Ings, who scored 22 Premier League goals for Saints during the 2019/20 season, has not played in the second tier since 2014.
Wrexham could offer Ings a lucrative route back into English football, while he has also been linked to Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.
Ings has been regularly linked to Saints since he moved to West Ham for £12million in January 2023, but sources usually distanced themselves.
