FANS launched a pitch invasion at St Mary's following a charity match organised by popular YouTuber Pieface23.

Jack McDermott, AKA Pieface, arranged a charity match between his Pieface FC and Inter Legends FC, with a host of famous names.

While general admission tickets for the charity match were priced at £15, packages to play for one of the teams were a staggering £3,000.

The match, which took place on Saturday, June 7, was cut short due to adverse weather conditions with the Legends leading 11-5 in the second half.

Hundreds of young supporters then stormed the pitch, hoping to get a glimpse of their favourite YouTubers or former professional footballers.

Stewards waved their arms helplessly while, over the tannoy, the PA demanded that all supporters leave the pitch immediately.

The pitch itself was visibly worn from the demands of the 2024/25 season, which has now finished with Saints set to return on Saturday, August 2.

The pitch invasion follows Saints sending multiple email reminders to supporters to not enter the playing field following their final league match.

Ahead of hosting Arsenal on May 25, Saints warned of "significant sanctions" for anybody caught entering the field of play at full-time.

The St Mary's pitch is set to be relaid later this month, following pitch events including a five-a-side tournament and penalty shootout tournament.
