SAINTS captain Jack Stephens has set out his demands for every player to "create a good environment" regardless of their own futures.
The 31 year old, who has already pledged to stay at St Mary's and fight for promotion, accepts the future of some players may lie elsewhere.
However, Stephens demands that the whole squad create a positive environment for pre-season when they return in around three weeks.
Saints have already made one new signing - 20 year old centre back Joshua Quarshie - but are yet to confirm any departing players.
Stephens told the Daily Echo: "I think the lads that are here, they're good lads. We've got a good group. I've said that all season.

"We speak a lot as a group of players and if there's lads that want to leave, you're never going to be able to stop that will to move on.
"But all we ask is that you train really hard, do everything you can for the group to really try and help out and create that good environment.
"We need to create that for the lads that are here and lads that are going to come in."
Southampton's relegation was already confirmed nearly two months ago, following a defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on April 6.
It has meant the club has had ample time to prepare for their return to the Championship, and they have found their new boss.
While Russell Martin was not confirmed in post until June 21 in 2023, Will Still penned a three-year contract on May 25 this time around.

"I think it will make things a bit more straightforward for the club's planning but as players, it doesn't change too much," Stephens added.
"It certainly doesn't change anything for me. But yeah, I think for the club, maybe it gives them a little bit more time just to plan for next season."
The ambition is clear at St Mary's next campaign, with the club targeting an instant return to the Premier League for the second time.
Stephens said: "It has to be the aim because we've not been good enough this season. Us players haven't been anywhere near good enough.
"We need to learn from that as a group and as a club as well because we got promoted together and now we got relegated together.
"We have to use this as a big learning experience and make sure that when we come back, we give a much, much better account of ourselves."
