FLYNN Downes hinted that his future remains on the south coast in a statement to supporters, addressing Southampton's relegation.
Downes broke his silence to thank supporters for their "continued support" and hopes to repay that "loyalty" next season.
The midfielder has endured an up-and-down campaign on a personal note, having dropped out of the team under Ivan Juric after a public disagreement.
Croatian manager Juric hit out at Downes and revealed there were "problems" after Saints turned down an approach from Ipswich Town during the winter window.

Downes, a former Ipswich captain, eventually returned to the side against Brighton a month later and remained an ever-present in the team under Simon Rusk.
The 26 year old appears to have committed himself to Saints ahead of a return to the Championship.
On Instagram, he wrote: "Saints. (It's) Been a tough year to say the least! Nowhere near the levels we set ourselves, and a massive learning curve for all of us.
"(I) Can’t thank yous enough for your continued support throughout the season. It didn’t go unnoticed one bit, and hopefully we can pay that loyalty back next year.
"Next season, we go again," the former West Ham and Swansea City midfielder concluded, accompanied by a heart emoji.
Downes, who joined Saints permanently last summer, made 27 appearances for Saints as they were relegated to the Championship with 12 points.
Downes was named Daily Echo Player of the Year following his first season at Saints, in which he helped them win promotion via the Championship play-offs.
