FORMER Saints boss Russell Martin is reportedly set to be appointed Leicester City manager ahead of the new Championship season.
The Foxes, who have been relegated alongside Southampton and Ipswich Town, will appoint Martin to replace Ruud van Nistelrooy, according to the latest reports.
Former Dutch international van Nistelrooy is not expected to take charge of Leicester in the Championship, despite a three-game unbeaten run at the end of the season.
Mail Sport report that a deal to appoint Martin as their new manager could be concluded in the coming days.

The 39 year old has been out of work since being sacked by Saints in December following a 5-0 defeat to Tottenham at St Mary's.
Having won the Championship play-off final the season prior, he claimed just one victory from 16 Premier League games before facing the axe.
Martin's successor, Ivan Juric, was unable to avoid relegation, and Saints are working on the deal to hire Will Still as the Croatian's permanent successor.
Leicester have been charged by the Premier League for alleged financial breaches in the 2023/24 campaign, and could face a points deduction.
Retired defender Martin has lost all three of his games against Leicester during his managerial career, including this season's 3-2 collapse defeat.
Having taken a two-goal lead, 10-man Saints succumbed to a late defeat at St Mary's when Jordan Ayew fired a 98th-minute winner.
