EASTLEIGH boss Kelvin Davis heaped praise on top-goalscorer Tyrese Shade after he scored a brace in a 2-2 draw at Woking on Saturday.
Jamie Andrews struck an 86th-minute equaliser for hosts Woking, who twice came from behind to seal a late point.
Tyrese Shade had put the visitors in front after 14 minutes when he found the bottom corner.
Woking then drew level three minutes before the break when Aiden O’Brien headed in from Jacob Jones’ free-kick.
Shade restored Eastleigh's lead just after the hour with a thumping strike into the top corner, which Woking keeper Ollie Webber with no chance, after a driving solo run.
But Shade then missed a chance to make it a hat-trick with a free header, and Andrews made Eastleigh pay when he curled a late free-kick around the wall to level.
"Ty has got that (in his game). He's worked hard since he came in. He didn't have a particularly fantastic start, although he was solid," said Davis.
"He's now started to do the things we ask him to do more often. He's getting the rewards from that, and we are getting the rewards from that.
"It was disappointing to lose Macca today at half-time. It wasn't a tactical change, he was feeling his ankle.
"It's disappointing when you have to make those changes to your front line, but Ty and Mags led the front line really well in the second half. I'm pleased with that."
He added: "We scored two really good goals. A well-worked goal from a set-play, and then Tyrese did his thing to put us back in front.
"It's disappointing because we put ourselves in a winning position, and we don't finish the job from a winning position.
"It's difficult ot expect the high standards that we reached this season. We lapsed a little bit in concentration defensively.
"We have drawn too many games this season, and Woking have drawn a lot of games this season. A draw was probably on the cards before we even started."
Spitfires goalkeeper Joe McDonnell also had an injury scare. The restart was delayed as he received treatment before seeing out the game.
"He's fine, he finished the game. He has a little bit of blood in his gloves from what I can make out, but he's still good-looking, so he's alright," Davis quipped.
