SAINTS duo Shea Charles and Ronnie Edwards have scooped individual awards following their impressive loan spells in the Championship.

Midfielder Charles has been named Sheffield Wednesday's Player of the Year, having played a key role under Saints manager target Danny Rohl.

Northern Ireland international Charles has played the most minutes for Wednesday this season, scoring once and providing five assists.

On winning the award, the 21 year old said: “I’m buzzing to hear that, I’ve loved every minute of being here, so to have the fans vote for me is perfect.

“I feel like a lot of people could have won it, but to be named Player of the Year is special for me. It’s the first time I’ve won that kind of award.

“I can feel the love from the fans, and I hope they can feel the love back from me. I thank all the supporters for making me feel so welcome.”

Defender Ronnie Edwards has won QPR's Young Player of the Year award, despite only joining the R's in January.

The 22 year old has scored twice across 20 appearances for the London club and has made his England under-21s debut since leaving Saints on loan.
