Two boxing brothers from Southampton have won fights in Thailand as their quest to stay unbeaten and fight on TV in the UK continues.

Yuvraj and Vijayraj Karia, 17, are two triplets that started boxing when they receive equipment from a traveller friend as a birthday present when they turned two.

Domestic rules say that teenagers cannot box professionally until they turn 18, so the brothers went out to Thailand to fight men at the start of April.

On April 5, Yuvraj beat Wisitsak Saiwaew, a 30-year-old boxer with over 30 fights under his belt at Suan Lum Night Bazaar Ratchadaphisek in Bangkok.

This was the 17-year-old's fifth fight - he has previously beaten four men from Dubai, India, Thailand and Uganda and won three by knockout.

Vijayraj on the other hand has faced three and beaten three, all by going the full distance.

On the same day at the same venue, Vijayraj beat 17-year-old Thai boxer Thanathorn Piamsak in the first round via TKO.

The brothers' matches made up two of five fights on the card.

Both returned to England from Thailand in mid-April, and they usually train 10 times a week in Sheffield with coach Dominic Ingle and former featherweight champion Kid Gallahad.

Yuvraj and Vijayraj told the Echo in December that if they can win 10 fights by the time they are 18 in October, an opportunity to fight on the TV in the UK is likely to come.

They believe they must stay undefeated while doing so though, and the wins in Thailand help them on their quest.

Mike said: “They don’t get nervous. I’ve given them the choice, I’ve said if you don’t fancy it anymore, you don’t have to do it.

“But they love it, and although it’s difficult, it’s a privilege to travel around the world and do the things they’ve always dreamed of doing."
