SAINTS midfielder Shea Charles has been nominated for the Championship Young Player of the Season award.
Charles, 21, has enjoyed a productive season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and should return to Southampton as a starter next season.
The Northern Ireland international has played 39 times for the Owls this season, scoring once and providing five assists for Danny Rohl's side.
He has received regular praise from manager Rohl and his Wednesday teammates, with experienced midfielder Barry Bannan being particularly vocal about his talent.
Charles made 33 appearances in the Championship during his first season at St Mary's, however, just 15 were starts.
Charles joined Saints from Manchester City in the summer of 2023 and signed a contract which could keep him on the south coast until 2027.
He has been nominated alongside Sunderland's Jobe Bellingham and Burnley's CJ Egan-Riley.
The winner will be announced live at the Football League’s annual ceremony in London on Sunday, April 27.
