SAINTS fans labelled Ivan Juric’s tenure as “a mess” as they reacted to his departure in the wake of confirmed relegation to the Championship.
Juric, 49, departed Saints on Monday morning less than 24 hours after the club’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed.
The Croatian was keen to remain at St Mary’s and lead the side into the Championship but had left after 12 defeats in 14 league matches.
Saints cannot finish outside the drop zone but interim boss Simon Rusk will look to achieve at least two points from his seven games to avoid picking up another unwanted record.
On our Facebook page, reacting to the news of Juric’s departure, Saints supporters made their feelings known on the club's situation.
In response to our post, Matt Fremantle said: “Should’ve kept Martin; we’d have more points and better chance next season.”
Fellow Saints supporter Stephen Jones added: “Feel sorry for him. He inherited a team that had already given up.”
Ian Kempen said: “Why bother with opinions, just let the stats speak for themselves. In fairness to him, he was never going to turn it round this season.”
Ashley Baigrie: “Didn't think we could get worse than martin and then boom this guy pops up out of nowhere! Another Sport Republic masterclass.”
Gary Pearson simply labelled Juric a “scapegoat” while David Munford merely described the situation as “a mess, move on.”
On our website, Everton Saint added: "Why did it take so long? Poor owner and his management plan. After the horse has bolted comes to mind."
AndyT in Salt Lake City, USA: "Not sure what the point is in doing this now, unless they want a permanent replacement in before this nightmare of a season is complete."
Robin Chainey: "Should have kept RM, might have been a microscopic chance of staying up, after all, he was good once."
On social media site X, supporters added:
Juric was evidently a pretty poor coach but I definitely feel a bit sorry for him.

Felt he carried himself well and never threw anyone under the bus or criticised fans. #saintsfc
Good luck to Ivan Juric, didn’t work at all and alienated some players, but to be honest, our strategy and approach this season, along with our signings, had us pretty much down before the season started. #saintsfc
