SAINTS are set to part ways with Ivan Juric imminently following the club's relegation from the Premier League, the Daily Echo understands.

The St Mary's side were confirmed as the first team to be relegated to the Championship following Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Saints, who sacked Russell Martin in December, also became the first club to be relegated after just 31 matches of a Premier League season.

Juric took charge of his first game on Boxing Day and has overseen 14 Premier League matches, picking up one win, one draw and 12 defeats.

The Croatian arrived with a reputation for high-intensity football and making his teams hard to beat, but conceded an average of 2.7 goals per game.

Juric pointed at the club's poor recruitment to explain their struggles this season, with an inexperienced squad competing at the top level.

Saints technical director Johannes Spors assumed control of the club's football departments when he arrived at Staplewood in February.

While the board of directors maintain executive control, Spors is likely to lead the process of finding the next manager ahead of the new season.

Simon Rusk took charge of the team on an interim basis after Martin's dismissal in December and is likely to do so again in the absence of Juric.
