WINTER academy signing Victor Udoh revealed his ambition to score as many goals as possible to ensure Saints under-21s finish the season "in the right spot".
Nigerian forward Udoh arrived on deadline day from Royal Antwerp before linking up with the under-21s, for whom he has already scored.
He fired a brace during a 3-3 draw with Sunderland but was named on the bench during their recent Premier League Cup win over Charlton Athletic.
Calum McFarlane's under-21s are on the brink of securing a Premier League 2 play-off spot and face Blackburn at St Mary's on Friday night.
Speaking in his first interview, Udoh said: “I’m very happy to be here. Deadline day was a very long day. I was waiting for everything to happen.
Goal! Saints lead 1-0 through Victor Udoh! Had been dispossessed with a couple of his first touches but a tidy turn and simple finish in the area with this one.#SaintsFC pic.twitter.com/AAGRa2Fnpi

"I was speaking with my agent, telling him that I cannot wait to be here (at Saints). I wanted everything to happen very quickly.
“I am grateful to god because I’ve had a very long career so far. The chance to be here is a big one for me and my family, everyone around me.
“My aim for this season is to help the team. I want to score a lot of goals and give a lot of assists. I want to make my team proud and always help them to make sure we are in the right spot."
Asked to describe himself as a player, Udoh added: " I’m a very direct player. I like to help my team, and I like to win. I am looking forward to achieving great things with the club."
Udoh had made 28 appearances for Royal Antwerp without scoring before joining Saints but had scored 12 in 27 for their B team.
