CHILDHOOD Saints fan Meg Collett issued an apology to supporters following their 0-0 draw with Portsmouth on Saturday.
Southampton FC Women failed to complete a first Women's Championship double over their rivals but have won two of three games against Pompey this season.
Fran Stenson produced two key saves to keep Jay Sadler's side at bay while Saints had a goal ruled out for offside.
The draw means Saints Women are now nine games without a win in all competitions - their last victory came against Portsmouth in the League Cup back in November.
"Sorry to the fans for not being able to get the win in a game that means so much to us," Collett said on social media.
"We will build on the positives and keep trying to be better. Thanks for your support as always. We heard you."
Collett returned to the squad at St Mary's having returned to training during the week following an injury.
She came on after 60 minutes to replace Milly Mott but was unable to continue her goalscoring streak against Pompey, having scored in both previous games this season.
