WINGER Kamaldeen Sulemana is relishing his growing responsibility at Saints but insisted the fans deserve "something to cheer" about.

Kamaldeen believes his personal performances have improved but insisted he has not delivered enough and feels supporters deserve more.

The Ghana international has scored twice since becoming a first-team regular under Ivan Juric and is pleased to have finally established himself at St Mary's.

"We are given the opportunity to play, to represent the team, to lead the attack. I like the fact that I'm playing and I'm doing well but it's still not enough," he told the Daily Echo.

"When you go deep in yourself, it's still not enough when things are not going well. We are not scoring goals. We are not giving something to the fans.

"In that regard, it's difficult, but for me personally, coming back to the team and doing what I'm doing, it's a big step for me.

"I'm looking forward to trying to help the team more in the attack and creating chances and trying to get goals. Hopefully we can pick up some points and give back to the fans.

"I feel like the fans in general deserve better, we need to give them something to cheer on to and then I think I try to give them that in the attack."

Kamaldeen has started seven of 12 Premier League games under Juric and played an important role in the Croatian's only win at Ipswich Town.

Juric was quick to praise the 23 year old following his arrival at St Mary's, particularly pointing out his improved physical condition.

Injuries plagued Kamaldeen under former boss Russell Martin, seeing him lose his place in the team and miss the start of this Premier League season.

Asked where that improvement came from, Kamaldeen explained: "His (Juric's) training sessions are harder than what we were used to doing.

"After 10 days or 15 days, you need to be physically better and I think everybody in the club here feels that way. I do extra finishing after sessions when my legs aren't heavy.

"Since he came in it's been very hard sessions and physically, that gets you there. I think I was in a good position when he came in.

"I was already training very hard with what he was giving to me. That's why I was able to impress him quickly."
