SOUTHERN Brave’s men’s and women’s teams have retained the core of their squads as they prepare for the fifth season of The Hundred.
On the men’s side, former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has been secured as the team’s first direct signing, making the move from Northern Superchargers.
Explosive New Zealand batter Finn Allen has also been retained for his third season with the Brave. Meanwhile, local favourite James Vince will continue as captain, supported by experienced campaigners Tymal Mills, Chris Jordan, and Jofra Archer.
Vince said: “We’ve kept the core of our squad that got us to the final last year, and hopefully, we can go one step further in 2025. As always, the fans and supporters are second to none, and we look forward to putting on a show for them this year.”

The women’s side also welcomes back several key players, with South African star Laura Wolvaardt already confirmed as their first direct signing.
She will be joined by returning England internationals Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, and Freya Kemp, reinforcing a strong squad.
Bell said: “I always look forward to playing in The Hundred with Southern Brave. It’s fantastic that I’ll be staying at Utilita Bowl.
"The support we have is incredible, and I can’t wait to get going in green later this summer and hopefully bring the giant ‘H’ back to the south coast.”
A total of 12 direct signings have been confirmed across The Hundred on Deadline Day, as teams finalise their squads ahead of The Hundred Draft on March 12. The competition kicks off at Lord’s with a derby between London Spirit and Oval Invincibles.
