FORMER Saints goalkeeper Kelvin Davis marked a year in charge of Eastleigh with a 3-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge on Wednesday evening.

Two goals inside 15 minutes from Tyrese Shade and Niall Maher put the Spitfires in the driving seat at the Silverlake Stadium.

Towering defender Ludwig Francillette fired on the turn to round out all the points in the second half and draw Eastleigh up to 10th in the National League.

The Spitfires have won back-to-back games, keeping a clean sheet in both, following a four-game losing streak.

Wednesday's victory leaves them eight points outside the play-offs with a game in hand - although Rochdale, who are one place above Eastleigh, have four games in hand.

Davis has won 17 of his 44 games in charge of Eastleigh, drawing 13 and losing 14 with a goal difference of five.

The retired keeper is assisted by former Southampton defender Danny Butterfield, who made 54 appearances for the St Mary's side.

Davis, who hung up his gloves in 2016, made 301 appearances for Southampton and was a part of the squad which achieved back-to-back promotions into the Premier League.
