SAINTS have confirmed the loan signing of Danish international attacking midfielder Albert Grønbæk from Stade Rennes, subject to clearance.
The 23 year old, who has six caps for his country, has joined on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 Premier League season - with an option to buy.
Grønbæk began his professional career with AGF in his homeland, moving to Bodo/Glimt in 2022 where he won two Norwegian league titles.
On joining Saints, Grønbæk said: “I’m just so excited. It’s a big club and I think the playing style is suiting me very well, so I’m just very pleased to be here.

“The facilities are very good and the stadium looks incredible. It’s even bigger and better when you come in person, so I’m just so excited to play there. I’m proud to be here.
“I’m a dynamic player, playing either as a number eight or number 10, can play on the wing as well, I like to have the ball. Of course, to get involved in goals and assists.
"I think the fans will see a dynamic player who likes to press, to run, to do good for the team and hopefully get involved in goals and assists.
"I think number eight or number 10 is what suits me best. I think I know myself very well and know what I can bring to the team.
"Hopefully I can bring my experience and the way I can combine with other players to make the other players better. That’s the main target."
Grønbæk scored an impressive 30 goals in 87 appearances in all competitions for Bodo/Glimt, including the UEFA Europa League and Conference League.
He made the move to France last summer for a significant fee, making his senior debut for Denmark in September and scoring against Serbia on his second cap.
