GOALKEEPER Aaron Ramsdale insists Southampton's players have never spoken about the grim prospect of a Premier League record-low points total.
Saints have made the worst start to a season in Premier League history and sit bottom of the table with just six points from 21 games.
On current form, they are projected to finish on fewer points than Derby County (11) managed in the 2007-08 season - the worst on record so far.
A 3-1 defeat at Manchester United on Thursday evening was their 17th loss of the season while their last victory came back in November against Everton.
Asked if the players are worried about breaking Derby's record, Ramsdale told the Daily Echo: "It's never been mentioned at the football club.
"It's not really crossed my mind. We've got 17 games left and you never know what's going to happen in football.

"As long as we are not throwing the towel in, the fans will accept that and I think they did at Man United. We were grafting for everything but we fell short."
Saints visit Derby's local rivals Nottingham Forest this afternoon and are still hunting for their first Premier League win under new boss Ivan Juric.
The performances of some Saints players have improved under his charge - namely Kamaldeen Sulemana, the standout player in the last two games.
The Ghana international gave United defender Leny Yoro, 19, a torrid time at Old Trafford and was only lacking a quality finish in his game.
Loanee Lesley Ugochukwu has also profited from Juric's appointment while James Bree has worked his way back into the starting lineup.
Ramsdale admitted it is difficult to look at the positives after another defeat before insisting Sants need to find a way to win more points.

"What Russell Martin did built a really good base for the club. The players knew we could play football. Now we've added the element of being able to turn the ball in behind.
"Going man to man has allowed Dinho (Kamaldeen) to isolate his man. I don't know if Kamaldeen has found something within himself a little bit more.
"He does look like a threat at the minute but he should have scored one or two more. There's still work for him to do, and everyone else, but the boys coming back into the squad is a positive.
"We just need to get some points on the table. The fact that we played so well for 75 minutes - if it was 15 or 20, it would be disappointing - but it was for so long.
"We did do so well. We mixed the game up. Matty Fernandes found pockets. Joe Aribo and Lesley in midfield. There are loads of positives but at the end of the day, we've still lost."
