SAINTS manager Ivan Juric labelled Shea Charles as having "really good potential" as he briefly addressed the recall of the young midfielder.
Northern Ireland's Charles, 21, is set to return to St Mary's from his stint at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, where he made 24 appearances.
Saints exercised an option to recall him from his loan at Hillsborough on Wednesday, although a seven-day cooldown clause was inserted in the deal.
The Owls take on Leeds United at 12pm today and it is unclear whether Charles will be involved - but Juric has spoken out about his club's decision.
Juric told the Daily Echo: "He is our young player. He will start to work with us, I think he has really good potential - and we will see."
Juric has his focus on Southampton's trip to Premier League high-fliers Nottingham Forest, who sit third in the table and are in the Champions League hunt.
"I think we will have prepared well," said the Croatian. "We know everything about Nottingham Forest and I think we will be ready.
"They are doing really well. They play really simple but really well. Yes, I am surprised (about their form this season).
"We need to take everything, personality, press, moving the ball and building up from the back from our game against Manchester United.
"I think there are lots of good things and really the only bad things was like the last 15 minutes managing the game."
