STARLET Tyler Dibling has challenged Saints to "put a run together" following their 3-0 FA Cup victory over Swansea City on Sunday.

Dibling scored twice to ensure Southampton beat Championship opposition at St Mary's after Kamaldeen Sulemana opened the scoring with a delightful chip.

Despite hitting a career-first brace, the 18 year old claimed it was not his best performance, suggesting that he "only scored a few tap-ins."

Manager Ivan Juric confessed the academy graduate's current best position is as a striker as it allows him to wait for the correct opportunities.

Juric could deploy the England under-21 international in the same role against Manchester United, the club Dibling made his first Premier League start against, on Thursday evening.

Dibling wants Saints to build on their convincing FA Cup victory and start a run of results which can help their fight against relegation.

He told BBC Sport Wales: "There's a big difference between the Championship and the Premier League as we've seen.

"We need to take our performance against Swansea into the Premier League and see if we can get some results.

Getting off to a good start, hopefully, this is the start of a run. We needed to get a win to hopefully get a run of results going. It was good."

Dibling has now scored four goals for Saints this season, having scored his first senior goal against Ipswich.

Former boss Russell Martin had challenged the teenager to add more goals and assists to his game before he was sacked last month.

Dibling has now scored three goals in his last three games having also scored the first goal under Juric at Crystal Palace.
