How Southampton FC fans have reacted to Martin sacking

Martin leaves the club with Southampton bottom of the Premier League table and boasting only five points after 16 games.

Supporters inside the stadium let their opinions be known during and after Southampton's 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Spurs.

Chants of "We want Martin out" were heard as early as the 12th minute and were repeated several times through the painful 90 minutes at St Mary's.

I'm not happy that Russell Martin has been sacked, if anything I'm sad.

Because I really really wanted it to work. We knew it would be a tough season, but we all wanted it to be a success.
