SOUTHAMPTON's super-featherweight Ryan Garner will face unbeaten Spaniard Salvador Jimenez at Bournemouth International Centre on March 1, 2025.

Garner's promoter Frank Warren teased on X that "a major title will be on the line" as the 26-year-old headlines this contest, though did not specify which title.

Garner, who is unbeaten in 16 pro fights, was last seen outpointing Archie Sharp over 10 rounds in July, ruining Sharp’s undefeated record in the process. 

Jimenez, meanwhile, is also unbeaten. His record stands at 14-0-1 (6), with the one draw coming against Juanfe Gomez in November 2023.

He has since then won two fights, both by stoppage, but has yet to fight outside his homeland. He is two years Garner’s senior but will start the fight as an underdog.

"I'm over the moon to headline my own show," Garner told BBC Sport, reacting to the announcement of the fight. 

"Frank has stuck by me and now after two big wins this year he's putting on a big show for me, it's massive for me so close to home too.

"I know if I get through this one then there are big things on the horizon for me, we've always spoken about my dream of headlining at [Southampton FC's stadium] St Mary's.

"If I get through this one then there are talks already for me this summer at St Mary's, next year could be huge for my career and my life."
