EASTLEIGH manager Kelvin Davis praised his player's character as they fought from behind to maintain their unbeaten home record.
Chris Maguire struck 10 minutes from time as Eastleigh claimed a 2-2 draw at home to Woking on Tuesday evening.
Eastleigh had taken the lead in the 18th minute thanks to Tyrese Shade, who collected the ball from Lloyd Humphries before thumping an effort across Will Jaaskelainen and into the far corner.
However, Woking struck either side of half-time, drawing level when Lewis Walker tapped in after 39 minutes following a teasing cross from Ben Wynter - brother of former Eastleigh defender Alex Wynter.
The provider then turned goalscorer as Wynter fired in at the back post following a fine ball into the area by Dale Gorman.
Woking were on course for a first win in three matches but Maguire’s flicked header from a cross made sure the points were shared.
Speaking to Eastleigh's media team, Davis said: "It was an interesting tie. We got the first goal. It was nice for Ty to get off the mark.
"In moments like that, you would then want to go on and enjoy the moment with the ball and force them back a bit. In fairness to Woking, they dug in and got themselves back into the game.
"Ultimately, in the end, we had to come back from behind again. The character in this group is very strong. The reaction from the lads was fantastic to fight back and earn a point."
Asked if it was a point gained or two points dropped, Davis continued: "I don't know. We will make our minds up at the end of the season on that one.
"On the back of a positive performance and result on the weekend, there is a certain level of expectation. We didn't reach that today but we put a shift in.
"They gave us every effort. We had to change shape to get ourselves back into the game. We got the goal in a good moment.
"On another night, we get a last-minute winner and we are all bouncing. It wasn't meant to be. We've earned four points from our two home games. We'll take that and move on.
"We are unbeaten at home, which is something to be proud of 11 games into the season."
Spitfires captain Jake Taylor made his fiftieth appearance for the club against Woking. "I don't know that," Davis responded when asked about his captain's milestone appearance.
"He's a good man and our captain. He's been fantastic since the moment me and Butts (Danny Butterfield, Eastleigh's assistant) came through the door.
"We are delighted to have him in our squad and I hope he can continue to perform to the levels he has for a long time."
