SAINTS winger Sam Edozie's proposed loan move to Rangers is off, the Daily Echo understands.
Scottish side Rangers and Southampton had been hopeful of striking a late deal but a move could not be finalised before the 11pm deadline.
The former Man City youngster featured in Southampton's 5-3 Carabao Cup win over Cardiff City on Wednesday evening.
Edozie came off the bench in both of Southampton's Premier League fixtures so far this season but his game time could suffer following deals to sign Ryan Fraser and Maxwel Cornet.
The 21 year old could still depart the club this summer with other transfer windows open beyond the UK deadline.
Edozie has made 63 appearances for Southampton since joining in 2022 on a five-year deal. He scored six goals and provided three assists in the Championship last term.
