MANAGER Russell Martin has been impressed by how quickly Ben Brereton Diaz is adapting to football at Saints.
The Chile international made his first appearance on Saturday when he came on for the final 20 minutes of their 1-0 pre-season win at Millwall.
Brereton Diaz, 25, worked closely with Martin and his coaching staff during Southampton's open training session on Thursday.

He worked away from his teammates in a bit to ensure he can get up to speed after an extended break following the Copa America with Chile.
Martin told the Daily Echo: "He looked good. He needs a bit of work fitness-wise because he has had a bit of time off. I'm really impressed with him as a lad.
"He's got great hair. He's clever. You can see that already, he gets it quickly. He's got a good football brain. He's a good character and I think he's going to help us a lot."
