SAINTS manager Russell Martin has set the record straight on Paul Onuachu and insisted the club have only received one bid for the striker.
Onuachu, 30, is likely to exit St Mary's this summer with clubs in Turkey interested in the Nigerian international after his spell at Trabzonspor.
Turkish media reports have been endless throughout the summer, suggesting a constant back and forth in negotiations between clubs.
Martin reveals this is not the case and that Saints have only received one bid, which the Daily Echo understands was in the region of £5million.
Speaking to us at the club's Girona training camp, Martin explained: "We've had one bid for Paul and it was nowhere near the valuation of the club.
"Paul's been great. He's trained really well and we've had a good chat. He's been really honest with me. I've been really honest with him."
Former Genk top scorer Onuachu would like to go back to Trabzonspor after netting 17 goals in 25 appearances - but they are yet to make an appropriate bid.
A new report from Turkey suggested that six-foot seven-inch Onuachu had made a transfer request in order to force his move back to the continent.
"There's been no transfer request as far as I know," Martin responded. "If I get told anything different, I'll tell you.
"But so far no. He's training hard, you've probably seen that yourself. He's not ready to play yet. He's only been back since Sunday so we'll have to wait and see."
