SAINTS have confirmed they have agreed personal terms with two current Sao Paulo players, Welington and Juan, for pre-contract signings.
Both have signed agreements with Southampton that will see them join up with the club in January, when their current contracts with the Brazilian Serie A side expire.
Welington Damascena is a 23 year old left-back who has already made 150 appearances for São Paulo, including a victory in the Copa do Brazil final in 2023.
He also helped his side to win the Supercopa do Brazil final in 2024 and has represented Brazil at under-20 and under-23 level.
Saints will attempt to agree a fee with Sao Paulo for the early release of Welington but have guaranteed his eventual arrival with this agreement.
Juan is a 22 year old forward who has scored eight goals in 80 appearances for Sao Paulo and has also represented Brazil at under-19 level.
Juan is likely to join Sport Republic sister club Goztepe on loan to gain experience in the Turkish top division following their promotion last season.
