WINGER Ryan Fraser is reportedly back training with Newcastle's Under-21s amid maintained interest from Saints.
The 30 year old enjoyed a successful loan spell at Southampton last season having been frozen out at St James' Park under Eddie Howe.
Fraser played an important role at Saints under Russell Martin, playing 42 games, including the play-off final triumph over Leeds United.
Following that win at Wembley, Fraser told the Daily Echo that he 'would try his best' to push for a permanent move.

A fee has not been agreed between Southampton and Newcastle for the former Cherries winger, who has one year left on his contract.
As reported by the Daily Echo, Saints were keen to keep Flynn Downes and Fraser following their promotion.
The St Mary's side have already secured Downes on a permanent transfer from West Ham, while fellow former loanee Taylor Harwood-Bellis has also signed permanently.
David Brooks, who joined on loan in January, remains unavailable for AFC Bournemouth after suffering a shoulder injury at Wembley. Joe Rothwell has joined Leeds on loan.
