BOWLER Mason Crane has signed a permanent deal with Glamorgan, having spent the entirety of the season so far on loan at Sophia Gardens from Hampshire.
Crane, a product of Hampshire’s successful player pathway system, made his first-team debut in a T20 match against Surrey in 2015, aged just 18.
He instantly impressed and picked up two wickets, including the scalp of Kumar Sangakarra.
He followed that up by becoming the youngest Hampshire player to take a five-wicket haul in the County Championship when he finished with figures of 5-35 against Warwickshire.
Overall, he played 154 times across all formats for Hampshire, taking 247 wickets. He was part of the sides that won the 2018 Royal London Cup and the 2022 Vitality Blast.
He has spent the first half of this season on loan with Glamorgan and now will join the Wales-based side on a permanent deal.
Crae said: "I would like to thank everyone at Hampshire for an amazing journey over the years.
"We have created some memories together that will last forever, but now is the time for me to start a new chapter.
"Thank you also to the fans for all the support and I wish everyone associated with the club all the best for the future."
