EASTLEIGH have confirmed the signing of Luis Fernandez for an undisclosed fee, on a permanent deal from Hampton & Richmond.
The 22 year old arrives having spent two years at Hampton & Richmond, where he won the Players’ Player of the Season award for the 2023-24 campaign.
Last season, the central defender found the back of the net three times and kept ten clean sheets across his 42 league appearances.
He began his career with Stevenage and came through the ranks of their youth system before making ten senior appearances for them - five of those coming in League Two.
During his time at Stevenage, Fernandez also spent time on loan at Oxford City and Kings Lynn, where he gained first-time experience.
The Spitfires are expected to have a busy summer in the transfer market as Kelvin Davis looks to build a new squad.
Only nine players were retained this summer, while new contracts were offered to two more players.
Fernandez, who has penned a long-term deal with the club, becomes the first signing of a summer.

Upon joining the Spitfires, Fernandez said: “I’m buzzing to be at the club. I’m delighted that I’ve finally signed and I just can’t wait to get started”
When asked about what attracted him to join Eastleigh, Fernandez added: “Kelvin (Davis) and Danny (Butterfield) were close to my manager at Hampton & Richmond.
"When I found out that they were interested in me, I spoke to Mel (Gwinnett) and he couldn’t speak more highly of them. They were two people that I really wanted to come and work with.
"I can't wait to meet all of the fans. Hopefully, we can make your day many times this season and achieve together."
This transfer is subject to approval from the FA and The National League.
