SAINTS visit Leeds United on the final day of the Championship season, knowing they cannot move up or down the table.
Russell Martin's side are guaranteed a fourth-place finish and will enter the playoff semi-finals away from home next weekend.
The boss, however, has set out his ambition to win at Elland Road and end only a second three-match losing run of the campaign.
Here is how we think Martin could line up his team...
Goalkeeper
Alex McCarthy is likely to retain the gloves for the rest of the season and changing at this point would be unnecessary confusion.
Defenders
Kyle Walker-Peters has not been at his sharpest but will keep his place with Jack Stephens on the other side of the back four.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Jan Bednarek would then start in the middle of the back four, although the Pole was left out last time out.
Midfielders
Flynn Downes could start but it might make more sense to him on with recent fitness concerns, meaning Will Smallbone could play in the six.
Ahead of him, Martin could opt for Joe Aribo and Joe Rothwell with the solution to the Stuart Armstrong injury still not certain.
Attackers
Adam Armstrong and Che Adams are clearly Southampton's strongest two attackers and will start unless rotated for fitness.
Sam Edozie was probably the brightest spark in an otherwise dim attacking performance against Stoke and deserves another chance.
Full predicted team
McCarthy; Walker-Peters, Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, Stephens; Smallbone, Aribo, Rothwell; A Armstrong, Edozie, Adams.
