SAINTS have found out their final opponent for the 2023/24 Championship season, Sheffield Wednesday joining the other 23 sides already confirmed in the division following the Owls’ play-off final victory against Barnsley.
Sheffield Wednesday finished third in League One before reaching Wembley by overturning a 4-0 first-leg deficit against Peterborough.
And just when it seemed that it couldn't get any more dramatic, Wednesday triumphed over Barnsley in the final minute of stoppage time in extra time to reach the second tier.

On the final day of the Premier League season, Leicester City and Leeds United were eventually confirmed as the two other sides to join Saints in relegation from the Premier League, Everton surviving by the skin of their teeth thanks to Abdoulaye Doucoure’s second half strike.
Ipswich and Plymouth are the other two teams coming up from League One alongside Sheffield Wednesday while Wigan, Blackpool, and Reading were all relegated to the third tier.
The upcoming campaign will be full of travel for Saints fans with a Championship table spread all across the country.

To the north, Saints’ furthest journeys will take them to Sunderland and Middlesbrough while Plymouth are the side farthest south.
An away trip to Norfolk will see Saints face Norwich while two visits to Wales - against Swansea and Cardiff City - also await.
Saints’ shortest away trip next season will take them 75 miles to Bristol where they will face Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
And while the upcoming Premier League season will include eight clubs from in and around the London area, the Championship will have only three after Luton Town’s play-off promotion.
The Championship season is set to get under way in the first week of August with the fixtures released on June 22.
