SAINTS have been given a home draw against Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Nathan Jones's side will face Pep Guardiola's Citizens, who progressed after beating Liverpool 3-2 at Etihad Stadium on Thursday, thanks to Nathan Ake's winner.
City’s victory ended the Reds' reign as holders and kept Guardiola’s side on course for a fifth victory in the competition in six seasons.
Saints have progressed through three rounds of the competition to reach the last eight.
The beat Cambridge United 3-0 under Ralph Hasenhuttl back in August, before overcoming Sheffield Wednesday on penalties following a 1-1 draw while Ruben Selles was in interim charge.
And with Jones at the helm for his first competitive home game, they sealed a 2-1 victory over Lincoln City in the last 16 on Tuesday.
Quarter-final ties in the competition will take place the week commencing January 9.
