NOTTS County returned to the top of the National League table with a 2-0 victory at Eastleigh.
It was a first home league defeat of the campaign for Lee Bradbury's Spitfires.
The hosts were resilient against the dominant Magpies throughout a cagey first half, with neither side able to convert chances into goals.
It took 56 minutes for Adam Chicksen to break the deadlock, nodding in Tobi Adebayo-Rowling’s cross for his seventh goal of the season.
It was all wrapped up after Cedwyn Scott combined with Ruben Rodrigues, who poked past Joe McDonnell to seal victory.
Goalkeeper McDonnell had to be alert to produce a fine stop to deny Geraldo Bajrami a third late on.
Eastleigh, who sit ninth, go to Maidenhead on Saturday.
Spitfires: McDonnell, Camp, Martin, Carter, Cisse (Whitehall, 66), Hill (Hesketh, 78), Langston, Abrahams, McKiernan, Harper, Rutherford (Kelly, 78)
Unused subs: Maghoma, Atangana.
