FORMER AFC Bournemouth striker Matt Tubbs has taken interim charge of Southern League Bashley after previous boss Paul Morris stepped down due to personal reasons.
Morris managed the Stags for five seasons, helping Bash to restore their Southern League status after a six-year absence by winning promotion from the Wessex Premier last campaign.
The news of his resignation was confirmed shortly after Bashley defeated Paulton Rovers 1-0 at the GlenMex Stadium, Jack Lovell grabbing what proved to be the winner in the 47th minute.
Head coach Leon Scott, who has been in situ since Morris’ appointment, will remain in his current role, with first team coach Tubbs stepping up to take charge of the Stags on a caretaker basis.
38-year-old Tubbs is still registered as a player for Bash, making six appearances this term and scoring one goal, a late winner in a 2-1 victory over Cinderford Town at the end of October.
Bashley currently sit eighth in the Southern League Division One South table, two points shy of the play-offs after earning 18 points from their first 12 games.
Bash are next in action this weekend, when they travel to Melksham Town on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
