AFC TOTTON will work more closely together with neighbours Totton & Eling, it has been announced.
Whilst some clubs are described as neighbours if they share a town, but in the case of the two clubs in Totton, they could not be situated any closer.
That is because the Stags’ Snows Stadium and Totton & Eling’s Miller Park are both situated at Little Testwood Farm, a literal stones throw away from each other.
AFC Totton's newly formed women’s side will play their home games at Miller Park, whilst players representing Totton & Eling in the Wessex Division One will also be dual-registered with Southern League Totton.
A statement from AFC Totton read: “As neighbours, AFC Totton and Totton & Eling have agreed terms to work more closely together and are both focused on creating efficiencies for the football clubs and, at the same time, have identified ways to benefit and engage with the local community.
“The players at Totton & Eling will be dual registered so they can progress through to AFC Totton's first team, if the opportunity arises.
“Totton & Eling can now enjoy the Snows Stadium facilities and support from the AFC Totton management team.
“As part of the agreement, there are also plans to develop and improve the facilities at the Miller Park stadium.”
Totton & Eling will continue to play their home games at Miller Park, whilst Snows Stadium remains the base of AFC Totton and Saints’ B, and Saints’ successful women’s team.
The 10th tier outfit have previously announced that former Aldershot and Eastleigh player Craig Stanley has been appointed as manager for the upcoming season.
